LAWS, RULES AND COURTESY:
What can and should you do, and what shouldn't you do?
Here you will find information and links to laws and regulations in Switzerland and the Canton of Zurich. You will also find tips for harmonious coexistence in everyday life, with other human-dog teams or people without dogs. Much of this is covered in dog training sessions, both group and private, at HUNDHOCH2, but not all of it.
The site is being expanded gradually - just check back regularly to see what's new.

THE YELLOW DOG
THE CAMPAIGN FOR MORE DISTANCE
Some dogs need more space. The non-profit campaign "Yellow Dog" aims to raise awareness that some dogs and their owners need more space. HUNDHOCH2 supports the campaign.
Please give dogs wearing a yellow ribbon more space and time to move aside . If necessary, ask beforehand whether contact with other dogs or people is desired and possible.
Thank you in advance for your considerate cooperation!

DOG BITE PREVENTION
"PREVENT A BITE"
ZURICH DOG ASSOCIATION ZHV
Source: Prevent a Bite
Prevent a Bite is a project for the prevention of dog bites among children . Through visits to kindergartens and primary schools with specially trained dogs, children are taught interactively and playfully how they can avoid dog bites by behaving correctly.
The demand for our services is very high. Prevent a Bite is therefore constantly looking for new volunteers.
Human-dog teams who enjoy working with children and want to contribute to this worthwhile cause are invited to apply. Each team receives financial compensation from the Zurich Veterinary Office.

Dogs must be kept on a leash in the forest from April 1st to July 31st.
The canton of Zurich enacted a new hunting law on January 1, 2023.
From April 1st to July 31st each year, a new leash law applies during the breeding and nesting season of wild animals and birds, both in the forest and up to 50 meters away from the forest .
Please keep your dog on a leash in the designated areas during this time.
If using a long line , please use a harness , not a collar. Otherwise, there is a significant risk of injury.
