TRAINING CONCEPT

EVEN BETTER DOG OWNERS WITH HUNDHOCH2

HUNDHOCH2 focuses not only on the DOG, but also on its OWNER.

HUNDHOCH2 helps dog owners to become better canine companions.

Here's what we teach:

  • Leadership skills – provide security and support, demonstrate friendly consistency.

  • Communicate effectively with your dog – through body language, words and hand signals.

  • Gradual and, above all, positive training – without punishment!

  • An abundance of useful information about dogs. For instance:

    • Do's and don'ts – what is allowed, forbidden and desirable for dogs in daily life?

    • What are a dog's needs?

    • What do you need to bear in mind when establishing signals?

Above all, you will learn how to apply the TWO PILLARS OF DOG TRAINING.

PILLAR 1 = Reinforce desired behavior.

PILLAR 2 = Prevent or manage undesired behavior.

GOOD DOG TRAINING – AND THE NAME HUNDHOCH2

Good dog training really isn't that difficult!

It essentially works like a simple mathematical equation. By the way... the name “HUNDHOCH2” is inspired by this equation!

PENALTY-FREE TRAINING

Sadly, far too many dog training schools and people who own dogs still use punishment. A punishment-based training approach tends to be chosen out of desperation or because people don't know the better options.

HUNDHOCH2 is dedicated to non-violent and positive dog training, with reinforcement through positive rewards!

HUNDHOCH2 is dedicated to non-violent and positive dog training, with reinforcement through positive rewards!

  • Following the motto ‘Violence begins where wisdom ends’, HUNDHOCH2 does not use aversive training methods such as ‘leash corrections’, noise makers, yelling, or other such techniques. HUNDHOCH2 does not permit any such forms of punishment!

  • In training, we focus on reinforcing desired behaviour. We do this with rewards, mainly in the form of food or snacks, as well as marker and praise words or other appropriate reinforcement. This serves as “payment for good work” shown by the dog. Food rewards in particular trigger emotions of joy in virtually every dog. As a result, dogs will display desired behaviour more frequently because it is worthwhile for them.

  • However, non-violent and positive dog training does not mean that we at HUNDHOCH2 allow dogs to do whatever they want. Of course, undesirable behavior is interrupted. Or, better yet, prevented before it occurs. Stopping or preventing behavior is not the same as punishment—please don't confuse the two. A recall or "leave it", for example, can be used to effectively stop unwanted behavior without having to discipline the dog.

  • Why not punish a dog when it does something undesirable? Because punishment triggers negative emotions (fear, pain, anger, or frustration), and in the worst caseaggression. It can also lead to a lack of trust in the owner and, in addition to aggression, other behavioral problems. Above all, punishment does not teach a dog what behavior is actually desired.

The best training method has always been and remains the reinforcement of desired behavior. And the prevention or reduction of undesired behavior – via training or management measures.

That's what you will learn as a dog owner at HUNDHOCH2!
