WHAT DOG COURSES ARE AVAILABLE AT HUNDHOCH2?
HUNDHOCH2 focuses on providing solid basic training for humans and dogs.
Based on positive reinforcement, without punishment!
The aim is to ensure that you have a dog by your side that is happy, that you can trust, and that you can allow to enjoy freedom as part of your everyday life!

Of course, HUNDHOCH2 offers the mandatory dog training courses required by the canton of Zurich.
It also offers additional voluntary basic training courses.
These are held in Meilen and Stäfa, in the Pfannenstil region on the right bank of Lake Zurich.

If you are looking for one-on-one training or counseling, private courses,
great activities with your dog or for special courses, you will find what you are looking for.

The content of the practical dog training courses builds on each other; it runs like a "common thread" through them.
Those who train at HUNDHOCH2 can draw on comprehensive knowledge and expertise.
GOOD TO KNOW
TRAINING AT THE TRAINING SITE
AND IN EVERYDAY LIFE.
Since dog training is mainly about guiding people on how to best train their dogs, HUNDHOCH2 offers training locations according to the experience of the human-dog teams.

For teams that are still inexperienced, HUNDHOCH2 offers training in environments with as few distractions as possible.

HUNDHOCH2 therefore trains puppy and preparatory groups only on the training sites.

The practical course "Basic", which is mandatory under the revised dog law as of June 1, 2025, also takes place on the training sites.

The voluntary advanced course is held outside in some cases.

Consulting, private lessons or private courses mainly take place at the dog owners' homes or in everyday life.
COMMON THREAD
At HUNDHOCH2, the respective course contents build on each other. They run like a common thread through your dog's basic training.
For example, in the puppy course, we lay the foundations for a good recall. We increase the level of difficulty slowly but steadily until the end of the basic training—i.e., until the last lesson of the advanced course. Until the dog stops during the recall.

The job of a dog trainer is:

To provide dog owners with a great deal of knowledge about their canine companions.

To teach them how to best handle and train them. Preferably without using force!
-
And to share ideas and tips on species-appropriate exercises and activities.
But: Dogs cannot learn much if they only practice in classes or private training sessions.
That's why the motto for all dog owners is: PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE – often, in short sessions.
At first, make sure there are few distractions. Later, practice everywhere, gradually increasing the level of distraction, the duration, and the distances.
SMALL GROUPS
At HUNDHOCH2, group training sessions are held in small groups only, with a maximum of 5 teams participating. One exception is our Crossdogging course with up to 6 or even more participating teams, as training takes place in groups of 2.
Small groups ensure close supervision and allow each human-dog team to progress at their own pace.
